A multi-layer compression bandage system by Cardinal Health is used for the treatment of venous leg ulcers and related conditions. Ideal for patients with ankle circumferences greater than 18cm or 7 8 inches (padded) and who have an ABI greater than 0.8.
Features:
- Maintains effective compression after application
- Provides higher pressure at the ankle, decreasing pressure at the calf to help improve upward blood flow
- May be left in place for up to one week
- Not made with natural rubber latex

Contraindications
Compression bandaging system
SHOULD NOT BE USEDon patients with an
Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)
of less than 0.8. An ABI of less than 0.8 may mean that the patient has arterial insufficiency and that the ulcer may not be simply a venostasis ulcer. Compression bandaging of a leg which already has a partially blocked blood supply could completely stop the flow of blood into the leg and lead to the death of the skin and muscle of the leg. Death of the muscle and skin of the leg could lead to further complications and possibly amputation of the leg.
